It is an honor to have had the opportunity to serve the residents of District 5 for the past four years. While we have faced some challenges during that time, I am proud of my accomplishments in capping property taxes and holding the line on new taxes; furthering mental health services; increasing access to quality healthcare; bringing increased accountability to our educational system; and supporting our public safety professionals.

Our campaign faced a triple threat that was just too much to overcome: a tarnished Republican image; a Democratic surge; and an extremely negative campaign which was labeled by major media outlets as "patently false" and "misleading."

But that in no way diminishes the dedication and hard work of my campaign team and volunteers. Together we knocked on over 60,000 doors in District 5. We placed thousands of phone calls. We appeared at every candidate forum conducted in the District and put our platform out for all to hear and question. We placed over 500 yard signs. It was truly an incredible campaign. And I am blessed that every step of the way I had my wonderful wife, Lisa, and our children at my side. Working long hours to ensure no detail was left to chance. On behalf of my family and myself, I thank all of my volunteers and supporters for your commitment to the campaign and your confidence in my ability to serve you.

It was an incredible journey and I will always be thankful for the opportunity and the experience that the residents of this District bestowed upon me.
